The People Behind The Mission

We built Securanoia™ for one reason: to help protect the most vulnerable of beings.

BROOKE SCHÄRLI in

Brooke is a USMC veteran with a Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law, specializing in the intersection of criminal behavior and digital security policy. Her curiosity about the grey zones of violence—and what drives people to cause harm—shaped her research into how AI can disrupt illicit dark-web networks and enhance digital security through threat assessment and protection strategies.

With hands-on leadership experience in corporate physical security, Security+, Advanced Digital Discovery (AD2 ) certification, and OSINT, she brings a rare “outside the box” blend of behavioral experience and technical precision to the families and organizations she supports. Brooke leads with conviction, making complex security risks feel human, understandable, and actionable.

  • Outside of work, Spotify claims her “listening age” is 74—proof that her taste in music spans generations. She’s a proud Marine (no surprise there), host of the Securanoia podcast, self-proclaimed nerd, and the daughter of Peruvian and Mexican immigrants. Fluent in Spanish and a native San Franciscan, Brooke grew up watching every Rocky movie, loving music, and learning early on that community truly matters.

Her favorite quote by Jimi Hendrix sums up her outlook: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” Life is short, and Brooke is determined to make the most of it. Semper Fidelis!

ALEX SCHÄRLI in

Alex brings a background in Fortune 500 SaaS, fraud prevention, and digital threat hunting. As a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Advanced Digital Discovery (AD2 ) certification, OSINT capabilities, and Google cybersecurity training, he’s built a career on anticipating risks before they strike. His work spans uncovering corporate fraud, protecting vulnerable communities especially veterans and helping organizations strengthen their defenses with clarity and confidence. At Securanoia™, Alex leads strategy, research, and the development of clear frameworks that help families stay ahead of evolving threats. Currently, Alex is attending the University of West Florida (UWF) Center for Cybersecurity in the Cyber Defense Analyst track, funded by the DoW CIO Cyber Academic Engagement Office and the NSA National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity.

  • Outside of work, Alex genuinely enjoys crunching numbers and tuning in to the Dave Ramsey Show—yes, you read that right. He’s all about financial freedom and financial independence while listening to 80s music. A former member of the Swiss Military, Alex speaks German. He’s from the German-speaking region of Switzerland near Lucerne and has a serious sweet tooth. If you need a Swiss chocolate recommendation, feel free to ask! He also teaches German and loves hiking through the Alps whenever he gets the chance. Alex is also the producer of the Securanoia podcast.

Together, this power couple also co-founded the Patrick Hirschi Pachamama Scholarship for St. Peter’s Catholic School in San Francisco, CA reflecting their shared commitment to spirituality, education, and community. The Schärli’s have also rescued a black German shepherd mix named Max and a tuxedo cat named Fluffy—both furry family members truly live the dream.
